Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful girl named Cinderella. She lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters who treated Cinderella very badly.
كان ياما كان، عاشت فتاة جميلة اسمها سندريلا مع زوجة أبيها وشقيقتيها اللاتي عاملن سندريلا معاملة سيئة للغاية.
One day, they were invited to a grand ball in the king’s palace. Every girl in the kingdom was invited but Cinderella’s stepmother would not let her go.
ذات يوم، تلقوا دعوة إلى حفل راقص في قصر الملك، تمت دعوة كل فتاة في المملكة، ولكن زوجة أبيها لم تسمح لها بالذهاب.
Cinderella felt very sad and started to cry. Suddenly, a fairy godmother appeared and said, “Don’t cry, dear Cinderella! You are going to go to the ball!”
شعرت سندريلا بالحزن وبدأت بالبكاء وفجأة ظهرت لها جنية عرابة وقالت: “لا تبكي يا عزيزتي فسوف تذهبين إلى الحفل”.
Cinderella couldn’t believe her eyes, she said, “But how? I don’t even have a dress to wear.” The fairy godmother waved her magic wand and turned Cinderella’s old clothes into a beautiful dress and her shoes into glass slippers.
لم تصدق سندريلا عينيها وقالت: “ولكن كيف؟ فأنا لا أملك فستاناً لأرتديه”. لوحت الجنية بعصاها وحولت ملابس سندريلا إلى فستان جميل، وحذاءها إلى حذاء زجاجي.
She warned her that all the magic would fade away by midnight.
حذرتها من أن السحر كله سيزول بحلول منتصف الليل.
Everyone was amazed by Cinderella’s beauty when she entered the palace. The prince asked her to dance with him and they danced all night. Cinderella forgot what the fairy godmother had said.
أعجب الجميع بجمال سندريلا عندما دخلت القصر وطلب الأمير مراقصتها، واستمرّا بالرقص طوال الليل، ونسيت سندريلا ما قالته العرابة.
It was almost midnight when Cinderella remembered and ran out of the palace. One of her glass slippers came off but Cinderella didn’t turn back for it.
تذكرت سندريلا أخيراً وركضت خارجة من القصر وسقطت فردة حذائها، ولكنها لم تعد لأخذها.
The prince fell in love with Cinderella but he didn’t even know her name. He found the glass slipper and said, “The lady whose foot fits into this slipper will be the one I marry.”
وقع الأمير في حب سندريلا دون أن يعرف اسمها ووجد حذائها وقال: “سوف أتزوج صاحبة الحذاء”.
The next day, he took the glass slipper and went to all the houses in the kingdom, every girl tried the slipper on but it wouldn’t fit any of them.
في اليوم التالي، أخذ الحذاء وذهب إلى جميع المنازل في المملكة، وجعل كل فتاة تجربه، ولكنه لم يناسب أياً منهن.
The prince asked Cinderella to put the slipper on, it fit her perfectly. The prince knew she was the girl and married her and lived happily ever after.
طلب الأمير من سندريلا أن تجرب الحذاء، وكان على مقاس قدمها تماماً، فعرف الأمير بأنها الفتاة وتزوجها وعاشا بسعادة.
